Two Centuries of Higher Education
This year it’s time to celebrate! In September of 2011, The University of Oslo celebrates its bicentennial; UIO 200.
For most of our 1100 years of recorded history, Norwegians who sought higher education went abroad. But for the past 200 years, students have attended The University of Oslo. As part of the celebration, there will be awarding of honorary doctorates, open days for the public, and the publishing of a multi-volume history of the university.
