On Wednesday June 13th 2012, about 50 guests showed up for our Annual Meeting.

The meeting was opened and led by our President Hallgrim Berg, who had his last day as President of Nordmanns-Forbundet/Norwegians Worldwide. He went through the Annual Report and highlighted the changes that has occured in the organization over the last year, especially with the launch of our new magazine.
Lasse Espelid guided us through the Financial Report. Hallgrim then introduced our new Secretary General, Hanne Aaberg, and she also got to present herself and her visions for the organization to the attendees at the meeting.

Kari Amdam from the Board presented the Election Committee's proposal for the Board 2012/2013 which was approved by the Annual Meeting and the new Board is as follows:
President: Erik Giercksky (former Board Member)
Vice President: Inger E. Prebensen (former Board Member)
Board Members: Nina O'Gorman, Bengt Lie Hansen, Trond S. Jensen (new), Jens Petter Heyerdahl (new) and Britt Holm (new).

As outgoing President of the Board, Hallgrim Berg now takes over as Chairman of the Advisory Council as well as Leader of the Election Committee.

The resigning Board Members, Hallgrim Berg, Knut Brakstad and Solveig Zempel were all thanked for their work and their commitment to the organization.

A special thanks was also given to Johannes Øvereng, former Board Member and member of the Election Committee, for his long term committment.
Hallgrim also thanked Lasse for his job as Secretary General of the organization for almost four years.

The entertainment of the night started with Halfdan Tangen jr. from the Kon-Tiki Museum giving a presentation on Thor Heyrdahl and "The Value of an Oscar". It was very interesting and educating, and he also showed us clips from the upcoming Kon-Tiki movie and had an exhibition in the back of the room with posters from Thor Heyerdahl's expeditions.

This was followed by a musical performance by opera singer Michelle Alexandra singing the 94' Olympics song "Se Ilden Lyse", "Memories" from the musical "Cats" and "O'Mio Babino Caro" by Puccini, with Bendik Eide on the piano also playing "Frühlingsrauschen" by Christian Sinding.

The evening ended with food, wine and good conversations.
