Still Vital!
War veteran, Nestor of Norwegian aviation history and former President of Nordmanns-Forbundet/Norwegians Worldwide, Wilhelm Mohr, has reached 95 years.
In connection with the 4th of July celebrations in the Frogner park, he lay down a wreath at the Abraham Lincoln monument.
Nordmanns-Forbundet/Norwegians Wolrdwide have since the monument was given to the city of Oslo by the Norwegians in North Dakota, USA, in 1914, layed down a wreath every Independence Day. This year the day will be celebrated in the park Sunday July 1st, but Wilhelm Mohr started the celebration Thursday June 28 when he layed down the wreath at the monument.
Former President
Wilhelm Mohr was President of Nordmanns-Forbundet/Norwegians Wolrdwide from 1980 - 1988. Still, we have the pleasure of staying in touch with him when he comes by Rådhusgaten 23 B one Friday per month, after attending a meeting at the Akershus Fortress.
He turned 95 years old Wednesday 27 June, and was duly celebrated at the Akershus Fortress, where among others the management of the Ministry of Defence, members of the Resistance Museum and the Accident Investigation Board in addition to friends and family were present. Congratulations on your birthday!
