King Harald and Queen Sonja invites the people of Oslo to an early preview of The King’s Choice, Norway’s Oscar candidate by Erik Poppe, interviewed in the latest edition of Norwegians Worldwide. The screening will take place Thursday September 21st at 20.00. Both the King and the Queen, Crown Prince and Princess, and Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner will be present, together with a group of specially invited war veterans.
This will be the first time the Royals see the film, and the first time for a screening on the wall of the Royal Castle.
The King says that he is looking forward to seeing it, says Marianne Hagen, Communications Manager for the Royal Castle, to VG. She says that this film was chosen because it tells an important part of Norwegian history, and because it portrays the Royal family. The film revolves around the dramatic escape of the Royal family during WWII, when King Harald himself was only 3 years old.
This event concludes the celebrations of the 25 anniversary for the King and the Queen at the throne. The celebrations started with an outdoor event January 17th.
